Getting started with Office Relocation Board

A short guide to planning a move in the app. Everything below works offline and without an account.

1. Create a move

On “Office moves”, tap New move. Give it a name, the addresses and the moving day. Start empty or from a template: a template adds waves, zones with desk codes, equipment tasks, inventory entries and services, with dates placed around the moving day. Tap Load example move on the first screen to see every tool filled in.

2. Waves

In the Overview tab, add waves – for example IT first, then finance, then sales – each with a date. People and equipment are assigned to a wave, and each wave shows its own progress. From a wave's menu you can set everyone in it to “Moved” in one go (with undo).

3. Zones and desks

In the Seating tab, switch between Current office and New office and add zones. Enter code letters, a start number and how many desks, e.g. N, 1, 12 for N01 to N12. Tap a desk to seat a colleague, add a new person to it or free it. Double-booked desks turn red.

4. Equipment

Add each group of devices with quantity, asset tag, the person responsible, destination and deadline. Tap a step on the track to mark it and every step before it; tap the last done step to take it back.

5. Documents and valuables

List crates, sealed bags, keys and valuables with the number of pieces, an optional declared value in pounds, a confidential flag and who carries them. Move them along from listed to checked against the list.

6. Services

Add every switch-off, switch-on and transfer with date, time, reference, contact and the person responsible. Change the status from to arrange to booked to done. The month view shows every service by day.

7. Export and backup

From a move's menu choose Export plan: PDF (A4), CSV per section or text, for the whole move or one wave. Under More › Data you can back up all moves to a JSON file and restore it later – replacing or adding to what is on the phone.

8. Changing the moving day

When you change the moving day of a move, the app offers to move all open dates of waves, equipment and services by the same number of days.
